Written by several founders of the field, this book should prove a useful reference work within the domain for years to come and provide the basis for courses on heterocyclic chemistry and homogenous catalysis.

All those interested in phosphorus heterocycles for applications in co-ordination chemistry, homogenous catalysis, molecular materials. Copper(I) Complexes of Phosphines, Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles is a comprehensive guide to one of the most widely used and extensively studied metals: copper.

The numerous practical applications of copper compounds are discussed, including homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis and their use as fungicides, pesticides. The main emphasis is placed on the five‐ and six‐membered phosphorus heterocycles of different substitution, constitutional, and annulation patterns.

Each heterocyclic system is represented with the discussion on properties, general applications, and supported thoroughly by an illustration of synthetic methods. The introductory chapter describes the rise of this field that has developed, over the years, into the fourth major branch of heterocyclic Edition: 1. “Phosphorus chemistry continues to illuminate many aspects of organic and inorganic chemistry.

I opened the book with some anticipation. Overall, this book provides a detailed view of some subtopics in phosphorus heterocyclic chemistry.

The book was required reading for a heterocyclic chemistry course when I was an undergraduate, but I didn’t really get any value from it until entering medicinal chemistry as it covers far far too much ground for an undergraduate text.

For basic heterocyclic chemistry there is an excellent Oxford Chemistry Primer/5(19). We hope to include the following articles in the second volume on phosphorous heterocycles: Diazaphospholes Selected phosphorous heterocycles containing a stereogenic phosphorus Heterophenes carrying phosphorus functional groups as key structures The synthesis and chemistry of the phospholane ring system Synthesis and bioactivity of 2,5-dihydro.

The next article includes the description of the rich chemistry of phosphinines, including azaphosphinines. The sixth article deals with synthetic approaches to different types of 1- heterophosphacyclanes, including four- five- and six-membered P-heterocycles.

The next two articles cover the chemistry of phosphorus containing mac- : Raj K Bansal. From the reviews:"Phosphorus chemistry continues to illuminate many aspects of organic and inorganic chemistry. This book has so closely matched the requirements of its readership over the years that it has become the first choice for chemists worldwide.

Heterocyclic chemistry comprises at least half of all organic chemistry research worldwide. In particular, the vast majority of organic work done in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries is heterocyclic chemistry.5/5(1). Drabowicz ∙ D. Krasowska ∙ A. Łopusiński ∙T.S.A.

Heterocyclic chemistry is the branch of organic chemistry dealing with the synthesis, properties, and applications of these heterocycles. Examples of heterocyclic compounds include all of the nucleic acids, the majority of drugs.

This book discusses the structure, synthesis, and reactivity of heterocyclic compounds. It covers nomenclature, conformational aspects, aromatic stabilization and biological activity of heterocyclic compounds. The book also includes discussions of biochemical processes involving.
